Hana Wexler
Hana Wexler
My name is Hana Wexler. I am 18 years old and a senior at Cathedral City High School. I was born in San Diego, California. At the age of five, I moved to West Virginia. I lived there for seven years before moving to Palm Springs.
Here at CCHS, I am part of the DATA program. I take DATA Senior English and I am in the Advanced Photography class. I am also the secretary of the Digital Element Club and a member of CSF and Interact Club.
This is my second year in photo. In the Beginning of the year we were introduced to photo journalism, which was pretty exciting. I enjoyed working with the journalism students on our project. Although I like using Photoshop, I don't like to do much alteration to my photographs so the essence of the original picture still shows through. I also love polaroids. Something about them captures a vintage-esque feel.
Surprisingly, one of my photos was chosen to be showcased at the Palm Springs Art Museum as part of their "Interpreting Light" contest. I was also given a scholarship from the La Quinta Arts Foundation for some of my work. And Most recently I placed in the “CAlifornia Through My Eyes” Contest.
Next year I will be attending Cal Poly Pomona to study fashion merchandising. In the future I hope to pursue fashion design or maybe even music. I have many interests and i”M not sure which path to take but I do Know that photography will always be a part of my life.
