I am currently a senior at Cathedral City High School and form part of the Digital Arts Technology Academy. This is my second year in the program, and have been in digital photography for both years. Most of my earlier works are digitally manipulated, but as I have continued this hobby, I have backed away from this technique and now favor the natural effects captured in a photograph.

In 2007, I was able to submit a photograph entitled “Enclosed” to the Palm Springs Art Museum’s annual Fine Arts and Creativity Awards contest, and received an honorable mention.   This piece encompasses the theme of identity and presents the issue that arises from stereotyping   individuals. A year later, I submitted “Escape”, which Joyce Wolff from Rancho Mirage, California generously purchased.  This second piece offers the light of hope in time of desperation and trouble...This hope is Jesus Christ.

This fall I will attend the University of California in Irvine and will eventually major in informatics, or business administration with a specialty in marketing, but I’m still not sure which... I can’t say with certainty what my future plans are beyond college.  I can only say that I hope to work in my field of study soon after I earn my degree, whether that means working for a software company, establishing my own chain of coffee and pastry shops, or leading a marketing campaign.

With all this said, I can’t fail to mention that my motivation behind every captivating photograph, every imaginative idea, every accomplishment I’ve made thus far, and every accomplishment I will make in the future, is Jesus. He deserves the credit for it all; not me. Thank you.
